PBIS Endorsement
Overview
The Northwest Georgia RESA PBIS Endorsement program is based on standards set forth by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission Rule 505-3-.109.
Courses
The PBIS Endorsement program consists of two courses:
Foundations of PBIS (50 hours)
Implementation of PBIS (50 hours)
Technical Requirements
A computer running Windows 10 or higher, MacOS 10.14 or higher, or the most current version of Chrome OS
Internet connection of at least 3.0 Mbps (You can check your speed here)
Working microphone and webcam
Purpose
All courses have several purposes for candidates:
To understand school culture and climate
To define and discuss behavior principles such as reinforcement and punishment and operant conditioning
To understand Tiered Behavior Supports and the connection between the Tiered Public Health Prevention model and the Tiered Behavior Supports Framework
To understand School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports
To use PBIS to guide discipline
To identify critical features of school-wide positive behavior
To understand data collection systems
To use data to determine the impact of interventions on behavioral outcomes
To analyze discipline data to address disproportionality
To create systems of support at the Universal Tier
To create systems of support at the Targeted Tier
To create systems of support at the Intensive Tier
Application Criteria
Candidates must meet the following criteria to apply for entry into a PBIS Endorsement cohort:
Currently employed by a school system
Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college/university with a minimum of 2.5 GPA
Valid T-4 or higher Clear Renewable Certificate in any teaching, service, or leadership field
Verification that candidate is school/district PBIS coordinator or has the ability to shadow a school/district PBIS coordinator throughout the endorsement program
