Why do I get a bounceback error message when responding to an e-mail?

Everytime someone either sends you a message or replies to one of your posts in Moodle, you are sent a notification e-mail. This email is sent out from the Northwest GA RESA Moodle e-mail address ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ). The FROM: field contains the person's name who either sent you the message or commented on your post but the actual email is from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . If you reply to this email, it comes to the Moodle e-mail account and auto-replies to you that this was not your intended result. Most of these notification emails contain text with links to the post in Moodle. Simply click the link and you will be directed to Northwest GA RESA's Moodle site. You may then reply to the user's comments within Moodle.

Why can't I log in?

This typically is the result of one of three things. (1) You are at the wrong URL. Northwest GA RESA's Moodle site is located at http://moodle.nwgaresa.com (DO NOT include www). (2) Be sure your username is correct. Many times, users include numbers after thier username. This is a username field, not your email address. (3) You have forgotten your password. The password is case-sensitive. You can have Moodle e-mail you a temporary replacement password to grant you access. Be sure to change this back to something that will be easy to remember.

If all else fails, just e-mail tech support at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll be glad to give you a new password.

Why can't I resubmit my assignment?

In general, assignments in Moodle are set up for the participant to upload their work and submit the assignment to the instructor once. Depending on the instructor's policy, you might be able to e-mail the instructor and ask them if they will allow you to resubmit. This will be up to the instructor's discretion.

Note for the Instructor: If a user needs to resubmit an assignment, open the assignment as if you were assigning a grade and click on the "Revert to Draft" button for that user's assigment. Your user will then be allowed to re-upload and submit their new assignment.

My Instructor cannot open my assignment. What am I doing wrong?

The most common cause of this is work saved in an "incompatible file type." If you have a productivity suite that does not allow you to save a file in the required ".doc", ".xls" or ".ppt" format, you'll need to download OpenOffice. This is a free productivity software suite and is compatible with both Windows and Macintosh.

Note for the Instructor: If a user has saved the file in a 2007 format and you do not have software that will allow you to open the file, you can download the compatibility pack for Office by clicking here. This will allow you access to newer files such as ".docx" or ".pptx"
